O&M Manuals are typically written by the design engineer to meet the requirements of the regulatory agency as part of regulatory project approval.  These manuals are submitted prior to system startup.  These manuals tend to not be updated by operations staff to reflect the knowledge learned during operation of the system.  REI  has developed a format for digital O&M Manuals that provides process data and standard operating procedures where they are useful in documentation of system operations, storage and access to manufacturer’s manuals, process descriptions, process control strategies and design criteria.  The digital format provides a system that can be edited and updated to incorporate the knowledge of the operations staff so the manual can become a useful tool in the daily operations and maintenance of the treatment plant.

Digital O&M Manuals

The digital O&M Manual organizes plant data using a series of menus organized by plant process area.  For each process area a sub-menu provides access to information such as process overview, process control, design data, operating procedures, troubleshooting guides and alarm response information.  Support documents include regulatory informtion, planning documents, construction documents, pictures, manufactures manuals and record drawings.

Washington DOH LOSS

Digital O&M Manuals

REI has developed a digital O&M Manual following the Washington Department of Health (DOH) Large On-site Septic System (LOSS) program manual template.  This manual meets all of the criteria required by the DOH LOSS program.  The digital format provides for easy access, storage and retreival of information required to operate the LOSS.
